Provided photo direction during shoot with professional photographer. Designed the folder and inserts first so that we would know the size and format needed for each photo. Scouted out the various locations onsite that would become dynamic backgrounds for each photo. Coordinated the models and photoshoot schedule.
Guidant had a need for educational heart illustrations to be used in their patient handbooks. After looking through a number of illustrators' portfolios I chose an airbrush artist that had the soft and friendly aesthetic desired. I worked closely with an in-house biomedical specialist who helped us to get all of the 10+ illustrations anatomically correct. This is a cross section of the heart showing blood flow.

Project Objective Create a responsive webpage that describes a recipe concept site and how it works. Encourage visitors to "like" the page on Facebook and/or leave comments. Depending on interest level, build out the site.
My Role Created the website concept; wrote the copy; designed the site beginning with responsive mock-ups (including: wireframes, typography, color selection, layout, photography and image selection); developed the site using HTML5 and CSS3

Designed for physicians participating in clinical research studies. Confidential information is blurred out.
Paper fan giveaway item for AHA Red Dress Luncheon. Attached to the fan are five red dress pins. The visual concept was created with the notion that the recipients would keep one pin for themselves and share the others in an effort to spread the word about heart disease being the No. 1 killer of women.
Short Term Identity
Client Iowa State University Extension and the Iowa Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects
Project Create a design based on the theme "Celebrate Landscape as Art." Apply the design to all of the collateral needed for the short term event. The event included an exhibit at the Des Moines Art Center along with a symposium, lectures and garden tours covering all aspects of gardening and landscape architecture.
Challenge Creating a visually stimulating design that would reflect the theme and be artistic enough to be displayed at the Des Moines Art Center
Results The posters were prominently displayed at local businesses throughout the community and participation was high at the event. Many of the garden tours were sold out.

Created signage and wall murals for corporate in-house fitness center. Selected high-res royalty-free stock photography and incorporated typography and other graphic elements to emphasize movement. Worked with large format printer and sign installer to find the best solution for hanging the mural. Identified sign vendor and selected materials for 3D entry sign.

Designed for a corporate program called Close the Gap. The program is focused on reducing the disparities that exist for minorities receiving cardiovascular healthcare.

ID Sign Solutions hired me to design a logo for their complete sign management company. The company does inventory, inspection and installation of traffic signs in Minnesota.
